Collection of the Divine
Supernatural and sinister creatures can be found in all pantheons, each with different abilities and weaknesses. Here are some the Scions have knowledge of so far.
- Jorogumo: Literally meaning “whore spider” in Japanese, jorogumo are a race of shape-shifting spider women, able to take human form to lure others with their looks before devouring or enslaving them. Their more monstrous form melds the body of a spider with the torso of a woman, enhancing their strength and giving them access to their arachnid powers. Jorogumo can communicate with any species of spiders, from common garden variety to Nemean Spiders, often taking a small entourage of baby Nemeans.
- “Maskies”: The mysterious thieves that have been taking the divine artifacts. The take the form of black-cloaked humanoids, wearing faceless masks with an unusual design on them. They give off a smell of rotting organic and vegetable matter.
- Dullahan: A race of faeries from the British Isles, dullahan (more commonly known as Headless Horsmen) act as messengers of death, riding on a headless horse and calling out the name of the soon-to-die in a dramatic fashion (often in the dead of night or during a storm). Dullahan are typically armed with a whip made of a human spine. All dullahan are under a strict geas preventing them from ever having gold, even coming within proximity of it. Like other faeries, dullahan can be enslaved by mortals by either plying them with cold iron or stealing their head.
- Crossroads Manor: A haunted antebellum mansion in Louisiana, filled with zombies, ghosts and necromancers. However, many claim that the house has a consciousness all of its own, fed by the evil that dwells within it. People tell tales of books attacking them in the library, rooms with melting walls, and floors covered in fresh human gore. A dry, terrible voice echoes through the halls, telling those within to leave immediately.
